June Ipsy bag, is it worth the $10.00?

Ok Ipsy lets get this months "Pretty In Paradise" party started!  This was an interesting bag, again this is month number two that I do and don't like the contents of the bag.  This bag contained three full sized items and two sample sized items.  One of the full sizes really should have been considered a sample size but Realtree is actually selling this as travel size, go figure.  As for the bag itself, I like it.  It's bright print and red zipper have a summer vacation type feel to it.  Makes me want to go to the Bahamas!

• Full size Nickak New York Shimmer Eyeliner in "blue"   0.1 oz retails for $4.99.
• Sample size Carols Daughter "Sacred Tiare" styling cream 0.5 fl oz.  Full size retails for $11.00.
• Full size Ofra eyebrow pencil in the shade "universal"  et wt. .04 oz retails for $13.00.
• Full size NYX Butter Gloss in the shade "Eclair" 0.27 fl oz retails for $4.99.
• Realtree travel sprayer for her 5ml retails for $6.99.

Ugh, this Nickak New York Shimmer Eyeliner in "blue" I so badly wanted to like.  At first glance I was  not happy at all about the ocean blue color.  Then I swatched it, and thought "ok, this has potential" then I used it.  OMG was this the biggest piece of, well I think you get what I'm trying to convey.  This applied horribly.  The plastic applicator tip actually hurts when applying it.  It feels like it's scratching my eyelid.  The color is streaky and takes many applications to actually show color.  When I finally was able to build up the color it was a beautiful metallic (like aluminum foil metallic) blue.  I may have, but highly doubt that I would have tried to work a way out to use something else to apply it, until it stained my eyelids!  Oh, this is so garbage.

Carols Daughter "Sacred Tiare" styling cream is indeed a cream, but acts like a pal made.  I have extremely curly hair and thought this would have made a great curl cream.  I applied it while my hair was on a level just above damp and thought I'd comb thru it.  This was not something that I'd ever do again with this product let alone ever use this again on my hair.  It almost acted like a tacky glue, while trying to comb thru.  My brush began pulling at my hair, instead of combing thru it.  The product was not what I had expected.  I can say that it smelled amazing and my hair smelled amazing after applying it, just not a good styling product for my hair. I haven't given up on this brand, just think this was not a good product for my type of hair.

Ofra eyebrow pencil in the shade "universal" first off I think this shade is not what I personally would consider universal, it's a dark shade of ash brown.  I have jet black hair and this on me, looks all bad.  The texture is waxy and wears down fast.  I found that it needed to be sharpened often and I was not filling in my eyebrows kindergarden coloring styling. I lightly filled in my spars areas and like I said the color did not match well.  I did seal the deal aka my eyebrows with a clear gel mascara.  Not something I think I would purchase.  Not a fan of how it applied or the color.  

Can I get a whoop, whoop! Thank you Ipsy for the NYX Butter Gloss in the shade "Eclair"!  This with its doe-foot applicator, applies nicely to the lips. The pleasant bakeshop type smell, reminding me of vanilla cake is delightful when applying.  This applies smoothly, a tad bit tacky but hydrating.  This is one of my favorite glosses.  I like that it has no frost or glitter it's just  a cream color with a glossy finish.  I am a huge fan and will pick up more to add to my endless collection to lips glosses.

Last but not least the Realtree travel sprayer for her.  Ok again another item that made me laugh.  Hands down this has set the bar when it comes to sample sizes.  I feel all samples should be packages like this and should be this size.  At first glance I did think this was a sample, then all the laughter came.  Get ready for this.  I was so impressed and also doing what I do best, my research for this blog and bam! Not only was this hard to find by the name alone when searching for it on the internet.  I had to venture to the Ipsy site and follow the link to find how to purchase this.  After finally finding my way to this, I realized this is not a sample but an over priced "travel" size.  Are you kidding me?!  I'm still in shock.  I can admit that this smells pretty delicious.  I am a fan of the fragrance and the full size price of $19.99.  Just not the sample price I mean, travel size price.  If I came across this in stores I may purchase it.

In the end was this worth the $10.00?  I am going to have to say.........no.  I did not like the contents of this bag all that well.  The only things I like are the NYX Butter Gloss and the Realtree travel sprayer for her.  The other three I was not a fan of.  I could have passed on this one.  I am not giving up on Ipsy, just did not like this months bag.
